My Instruments Your Medicine

When I first started playing my grandparents Grand Piano, I remember closing my eyes and experiencing an alternate state of mind.

I experienced this bliss by just reducing my senses, which I now do with all of my instruments. I only play my own improvised music.

I switch from visual playing to my intuitive muscle memory with my:

  • Guitar

  • Ukulele

  • Dulcimer

  • Keyboard

  • Shrudi box

  • Hang

  • Voice

  • Kalimba

To find your own Music

It can be a very powerful experience for clients to learn their own songs. To play what wants to be expressed through art or music has a cathartic quality which we can explore together in a safe, non judgmental space.

Developed my own Therapeutic Approach

My versatile work experience covers children, seniors, difficult-to-house, street-entrenched people. I have worked in institutional, family settings and end of life care. Growing up in a family with various healing and therapy professionals dealing with grief and bereavement gave me an early start in this work before I acquired my certificates in Expressive Art Therapy and counseling.

I developed and facilitate a workshop – The Gratitude Sound Bath – and have facilitated in various organizations such as Onsite, Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation, and Wildflower Motherless Daughter's Vancouver.

It is all about connecting to yourself, self-care, gratitude, music therapy, sound and its healing properties. The use of candles, incense, giving thanks and sharing in a group setting engages people with their senses and helps them to move forward in their healing process. Details TBA on facebook.
